Dehydration

Dehydration happens when you lose more fluids than your body takes in. This means your body does not have enough water to carry out its normal functions. Dehydration can lead to many severe complications, such as  kidney failure, shock and sometimes  death.

Signs and symptoms of dehydration include:

  • Headache
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
  • Sleepiness
  • Decrease in urination
  • Dark yellow- or amber-colored urine
  • Low blood pressure

If you are experiencing any of the following  symptoms, speak to your  health care team.  There may be an alternative reason for your symptom but it is best to make your  health care team aware.
